In 1968 ROADS (Ross Operatic and Dramatic Society) acquired the then derelict Ross Fire Station (left) in Palace Pound, Ross-on-Wye. Then followed fifteen years of relentless fund raising by a determined, hardworking band of people.

In 1983 the building work was completed and The Phoenix Theatre was finally opened to the public.

The Theatre had remained substantially unchanged since it first opened but we have recently, with lottery funding, extended our foyer area at the front of the building. This has provided a further 'stage sized' rehearsal room and improve the facilities for our audiences. It has also give us a modern, higher profile frontage.
