It is the intention of The Phoenix Theatre to place on this page copies of programmes and a few pictures of the cast and crew
from past productions.
As this is a new page we have many holes to plug. This is where you can help.
If you have a copy of an old programme that is not displayed here, a photograph that you would like included or can fill in missing
production dates and names then please contact us using the link below.
The question marks indicate where we are unsure of a detail. If you know for sure then please let us know.
Anyone that helps will get a mention on the website unless you would rather stay anonymous.
Thank you for your help.

This is one of a trio of plays by Neil Simon. In parts hilariously funny in others very sad.
Four groups of people come in to suites 402 and 404 of an anonymous hotel and tell their stories.
First comes Billy and Brian. Billy is a writer and Brian is his agent. Billy confronts Brian at the
airport and they retire to the hotel for a chat about Billy's missing royalty money.
Next comes an American couple, mother and daughter, on a shopping spree in London. The mother
is pursuaded by her daughter to go to the theatre with the man she was talking to on the aircraft.
Next comes in Sidney and Diane. They are an estranged couple. Sidney now lives on Mikanos with his
gay partner Maria. Diana is a successful tv presenter. They are meeting in the hotel to discuss
old times and a problem that Maria has.
Finally an another AMerican couple stay in 402 and 404. The husband puts his back out and doctor
McMerlin is called in to help!

Vincent is on a mission. Well he's on several, but his primary objective to see his client's
requirements fulfilled. Just as importantly (possibly more so) is his desire to get to Slough,
where the next client awaits impatiently.
Vincent is the front man for 'Exodus' an organisation that supply a nice, pain free
way to shuffle off your mortal coil; in the comfort of your own home.
He is also a man of high ethical standards. After all he left school at the age of just
fourteen and with no formal qualificaions now finds himself at the vanguard of...
'client preferred lifeage.'
Vincent takes his role very seriously but is still quick, possibly too quick, to administer
the tasteless, odourless and painless 'Pure Organic Poison' or POP for short.
He is used to seeing through the thin veil of clients who desire to see a suffering loved one
ushered gently across the Styx so that they may enjoy the fruits of greener grass.
Or is he?

A room, institutional and unforgiving. Not the sort of place you would want
to visit voluntarily. There is, however, something not quite
right as everything is just a little distorted.
Into this room are brought three people.
In the first act we meet Mother and hear her story and how she came to be in the ice cream parlour
at the end of the pier. She has no idea where she is or why she is there.
In the second act we meet Toni Vittorio the Italian owner of the ice cream parlour at the end of the pier.
As with Mother, Toni can only guess where he is.
In the last act we meet Boffin. Boffin knows exactly where he is and why he is there.
He has designed a machine... a special machine.
Questioning the three are a series of Hosts.
It goes without saying that each character has a special story to tell.

anything in the pursuit of wealth.
